MALCOLM WILSON

All of Malcolm's work revolves around the traditional English Landscape and its changing weather, the backbone of Art History in this country.
Malcolm Wilson was born in a small mining village, of County Durham, and later encouraged by his art teacher in Grammar School to understand English Landscape and its pivotal role in Art History.
He grew up surrounded by the hills and valleys of the more remote parts of the County and has painted ever since. One of his mentors, Sir Hugh Casson, described his larger pieces as of National Importance.
He qualified as a Chartered Architect in 1979 and is the director of a Private Architects Practice in Carlisle, having worked most of his professional life in Southern England and London.
He now lives in Cumbria, closer to the landscape he loves.
